Dr. Isabel Kopsahilis is a Master of Science in Orthodontics at Bimler & Schmidt in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel and one of the most experienced specialists in her field. She has been with Bimler & Schmidt for more than 10 years, where she initially completed her residency and two years of further training. Due to her strong interest in orthodontics and the underlying biomechanics, she completed her doctorate at the University of Düsseldorf in the orthodontic department under Prof. Drescher with the topic „Friction behavior of the wire material Gummetal“. Her study was published in the Journal of Orofacial Orthopedics. During a study visit to an orthodontic university in Japan, her mother's home country, she studied in detail the remarkable application possibilities of the orthodontic wire Gummetal developed in Japan. She successfully completed her three-year master's degree in orthodontics at the University of Krems, graduating with a master's thesis and master's examination, and has also held the title of MSc in Orthodontics since then. In her work, she also places great emphasis on prevention/prophylaxis in order to avoid premature damage to teeth caused by tooth decay. During her repeated visits to an orphanage in Morocco, she taught the children there about oral hygiene. Since completing her training, she has had a keen interest in teaching, which is why she works part-time as a dental assistant teacher at Walter-Eucken-Berufskolleg. Her two young daughters leave her no time for hobbies at the moment. She used to share a great love of water sports with her colleagues, but now she prefers to dive into the sea in summer.
